Overview and Gameplay
Ghostbusters III follows the Ghostbusters as they cross Manhattan, animate the Statue of Liberty, and reach the museum before Vigo the Carpathian emerges. Seven scenes alternate between on-foot action, Ecto-1A driving, and a Statue of Liberty sequence.
Running stages feature ghosts, environmental hazards, and a pursuing spider. Driving stages require lane changes, jumps, and attacks against airborne enemies. The final museum scene sends all four Ghostbusters through the gauntlet one at a time.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the character, adjusts aim, or controls the Ecto-1A. A fires the slime blower, vehicle weapon, or Statue of Liberty torch. B jumps during running and driving scenes, while the Statue of Liberty uses it to activate a book bomb. Start deploys a ghost trap during running scenes.
The game begins with four lives, and remaining lives carry between scenes. Twenty Ghostbusters logos award an extra life. Vehicle stages include temporary shields, weapon upgrades, and one-use smart bombs. Two-player mode alternates scene attempts between players.
