Overview and Gameplay
John Rambo enters Soviet-occupied Afghanistan to rescue Colonel Trautman in a mission-based overhead shooter created specifically for the Sega Genesis. Six stages send him through prisons, arsenals, fortresses, and enemy compounds, with objectives ranging from infiltration and demolition to escaping before a countdown expires.
Four bonus battles switch to a behind-Rambo viewpoint for confrontations with tanks and Hind helicopters. These battles must be cleared to continue the campaign.
