Overview and Gameplay
Lunar Pool turns billiards into a sequence of compact physics puzzles. Clear every numbered ball from each table while avoiding scratches and long runs of missed shots. The NES game contains 60 rounds with unusual shapes, narrow lanes, rebound challenges, and a selectable starting round. An adjustable friction value changes how quickly the balls slow down, making familiar layouts behave very differently.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions aim the cue and adjust the aiming guide.
- A or B takes the shot at the current point on the moving power meter.
- Three consecutive shots without pocketing a numbered ball cost a spare ball, as does pocketing the cue ball.
- Successful shots build the Rate multiplier, increasing score and helping award extra spare balls.
- Two-player mode is alternating versus play, while another mode pits one player against the computer.
Version Notes
The USA release is titled Lunar Pool. The Japanese Famicom edition is called Lunar Ball and uses different title and credit presentation.
