Overview and Gameplay
Shinnosuke Nohara searches neighborhoods, spooky grounds, dreamlike hideouts, and his snow-covered kindergarten for specific cards and missing objects. Four themed stages contain five areas each, combining side-view platform action, exploration, conversations, item hunting, and bonus minigames. Progress depends on finding each target before time expires rather than earning a conventional score.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: Run, dash, jump, crawl, climb poles, enter buildings, and travel between connected streets.
- Combat: Perform a somersault attack, catch and throw balls, or lie completely still while prone to avoid damage.
- Item cards: Action Mask grants invulnerability and a beam attack, Shiro attacks nearby enemies, the elephant freezes enemies, the angel restores health, and the water pistol provides ranged fire until Shin-chan is hit.
- Play mode: The game is solo only. Its minigames use computer-controlled opponents and can award extra lives.
Version Notes
This Japanese Mega Drive port revises the 1993 Super Famicom original. Minigame failure no longer blocks progression or costs a life, the minigame lineup and order differ, enemies are generally fewer and slower, and the soundtrack was replaced.
