Overview and Gameplay
Alien formations descend across 18 rounds, and the player must destroy each wave before it reaches the bottom of the screen. Space Invaders ’91 updates Taito’s fixed-screen shooter with 36 formations, varied projectile patterns, sloped terrain, a five-hit shield, and temporary weapons released by passing UFOs. Remaining invaders accelerate as their numbers fall, keeping the original game’s mounting pressure.
