Overview and Gameplay

Mean Eugene tears up Chester Cheetah’s map to Hip City and scatters the pieces across the United States. This SNES sequel sends Chester through a side-scrolling platform route built around city selection, map-piece recovery, and boss fights.

The player chooses available locations on a U.S. map, clears regular stages, collects the required map piece, reaches the goal sign, and defeats a boss. Completing stages opens more cities, with Rally, North Carolina serving as the final racing showdown after the nine main map pieces are recovered.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Chester walks, ducks, climbs, swims, hangs from ledges, and controls vehicles with the directional pad.
  • Jumping is used for platforming, ledge climbing, swimming upward, and enemy attacks.
  • Running can be combined with jumping for longer movement and attack options.
  • A super jump and sudden drop let Chester break certain rocks, ice, and bridges or stomp enemies.
  • Power-ups include paws for score and bonuses, cheese puffs for protection, sunglasses, sneakers, guitar, map pieces, and pal panels.
  • The game has Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty settings and is single-player only.
