EA’s 16-bit hockey series moves into season management with NHL 95, adding battery-backed Season play, trades, free agents, created players, league leaders, and accumulated team and player stats. Controls And Mechanics
- Matches use three periods, penalties, line changes, injuries, overtime, instant replay, and selectable period lengths.
- Offense focuses on skating, passing, wrist shots, slap shots, clearing the puck, and one-timers.
- Defense uses body checks, poke checks, hooks, player switching, and optional manual goalie control.
- Two-player play supports versus games and same-team cooperative play.
