Overview and Gameplay
Exotic cars duel across public highways from a cockpit view, with traffic, police, fuel stops, and crashes turning each section into a survival run. The Duel: Test Drive II lets the player choose a Porsche 959, Ferrari F40, or Lamborghini Diablo, then race a computer rival or the clock.
The SNES version features four routes: Desert Blast, City Bound, East Coast, and West Coast. Progress is built around reaching gas stations, avoiding penalties, keeping speed high, and managing lives across multi-section courses.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directional pad steers and moves through menus, while A accelerates and B brakes.
- X sounds the horn, L downshifts, R upshifts, and Start pauses or advances menu selections.
- Automatic and manual transmission settings change the challenge; redlining in manual modes can blow the engine.
- Police tickets, crashes, running out of gas, and slow section averages can end or damage a run.
- This is a single-player racing game with no two-player, versus, or co-op mode.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release. Test Drive II: The Duel is a common alternate title ordering. The SNES version adds four routes and the Lamborghini Diablo compared with the earlier computer original.
