Overview and Gameplay
The Power Drive World Championship turns rally racing into a money-managed tour of 48 stages across eight countries. Players tackle Special Stage time trials, Rally Cross events against computer cars, and Skill Tests built around precise driving.
Prize money pays for repairs and faster cars, while damage to parts such as tyres, shocks, engine, and geartrain affects performance. Road surfaces, night driving, fog, rain, snow, and ice change how each stage handles.
Controls And Mechanics
- Steering: directional or rotational steering can be selected.
- Driving: accelerate, brake, shift into forward gears, and use reverse from low gear.
- Pick-ups: money adds cash, nitrous gives a speed boost, and time bonuses freeze the clock briefly.
- Multiplayer: up to eight players compete in an alternating pass-and-play championship for stage points, not simultaneous co-op racing.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release, with selectable English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese text. Publicly, the game title remains Power Drive.
