Overview and Gameplay
Joe sets out on a world tour to prove himself against eight martial artists in this one-on-one SNES fighter. In single-player mode, victories require two straight match wins, and each defeated opponent can improve Joe’s speed, jump, attack, defense, or life. Passwords preserve progress between major wins.
Controls And Mechanics
- Fights use punch, kick, jump, guarding, throws, and directional special attacks.
- Single-player is built around Joe’s stat growth, making later rematches and upgrades part of the structure.
- Two-player mode is simultaneous versus, with broader character selection and no stat progression.
Version Notes
This is the USA SNES release, titled Power Moves. The Japanese Super Famicom title is Power Athlete, while the related Genesis version used the US title Deadly Moves.
