Overview and Gameplay
Bowser and the Koopalings have stolen Jewelry Land’s twelve magic gems, sending Mario onto Yoshi’s back for a Super Scope rescue mission. Yoshi’s Safari is an on-rails light-gun shooter where you blast enemies, Question Blocks, hazards, and bosses while recovering gems across a stage map.
Controls And Mechanics
- Player 1 aims and fires with the Super Scope, with turbo fire available.
- Yoshi can jump, use saved boss items, and collect coins, mushrooms, stars, clocks, and other power-ups.
- Life, time, score bonuses, and boss fights shape each course.
- In 2-player co-op, one player shoots while the other guides Yoshi with a controller.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release titled Yoshi’s Safari. The Japanese version is known as Yoshi no Road Hunting.
