Overview and Gameplay
Vortex is a Super FX-powered 3D shooter built around the Morphing Battle System, a combat machine that changes form during missions against the Aki-Do forces.
The player moves through training and mission stages, collects key items and Core segments, checks maps, fights enemies and bosses, and uses passwords to continue later. The four forms are Walker, Sonic Jet, Land Burner, and Hard Shell, each with different movement and combat roles.
Controls And Mechanics
- A and Y fire the right and left weapons.
- X jumps in ground forms or gives the Sonic Jet a turbo boost.
- B performs a quick turn or air brake.
- Select cycles the morph forms, while R gives direct morph shortcuts.
- The game is single-player only, with no versus or co-op mode.
