Overview and Gameplay
Kawase crosses surreal Fields full of platforms, ladders, spikes, doors, and walking sea creatures using an elastic fishing line. Umihara Kawase is a physics-driven Super Famicom platformer where the line works as a grappling hook, weapon, and movement tool.
Each Field has a door exit, and many have multiple exits that branch to different routes. Catching sea creatures adds score, bookbags represent lives, and each Field has a time limit.
Controls And Mechanics
- The fishing line stays attached while the cast button is held, then releases when let go.
- Hooked terrain enables swings, climbs, slingshot jumps, and precise shortcuts.
- Hooked enemies can be stunned and reeled into Kawase’s bag.
- Camera panning and saved replays support route learning and technical play.
- This version is single-player only.
