Overview and Gameplay
A laboratory accident sends Snotty Ragsdale, better known as Boogerman, into Dimension X-Crement to recover the stolen Snotrium 357. This single-player side-scrolling platformer mixes running, jumping, secrets, collectibles, and boss fights with deliberately crude attacks based on mucus, burps, and gas.
The Genesis original spans 20 platforming stages and five boss encounters across locations including Flatulent Swamps, Boogerville, Nasal Caverns, and Pus Palace. Outhouses act as checkpoints, while four-character passwords return players to later stages. Collecting at least 30 plungers in a level can earn an extra life during the bonus sequence.
Controls And Mechanics
- A flicks a booger, or fires an upgraded loogie after collecting milk.
- B jumps; landing on enemies performs a butt whomp.
- C burps while standing and produces a fart while crouching. Holding it charges stronger gas attacks.
- Booger pickups refill the mucous meter, bean cans restore gas, and chili enables powered attacks and flight.
- The game supports one player only.
Version Notes
This Sega Genesis release is the original version. The separate Super NES conversion followed in 1995 and uses a different password format and sound production team.
