Overview and Gameplay
Cool Spot, the sunglasses-wearing mascot from the 7 Up logo, sets out to rescue fellow Spots trapped in cages. Each stage combines platforming, exploration, and projectile combat across oversized beaches, piers, toy rooms, and railway settings.
Progress depends on collecting enough red Cool Points before reaching the cage. Normal difficulty usually requires 60 percent, while gathering 85 percent opens a bonus stage. Checkpoints, health items, extra time, and hidden lives help with the larger, multidirectional levels.
Controls And Mechanics
- Run, jump, duck, climb, and fire fizzy projectiles in eight directions.
- Projectiles defeat enemies and can be fired while jumping or climbing.
- Bonus stages contain letters that spell UNCOLA; collected letters also provide continues.
- The game supports one player only and has no password or battery save system.
Version Notes
The USA release keeps prominent 7 Up branding in its introduction, scenery, collectibles, and UNCOLA bonus system. European Mega Drive versions replace or remove some of this advertising imagery.
