Overview and Gameplay
Rocket-equipped cars tear across a futuristic highway network where reaching checkpoints before time expires matters more than finishing position. OutRun 2019 is an original Sega Genesis title rather than a port of the arcade OutRun.
Four selectable stages contain branching routes through cities, ruins, tunnels, bridges, damaged roads, and elevated highways. Remaining time carries into the next route, while collisions and leaving the road cost valuable speed. Completed stages record route and total times for repeat attempts.
