Overview and Gameplay
PGA Tour Golf III builds its rounds around eight licensed Tournament Players Club courses, including Sawgrass, Scottsdale, and Summerlin. Players create or select a golfer, practice individual skills, or compete in tournaments, Skins, Match Play, and the EA Sports Shoot-Out. Wind, lie, hazards, club choice, shot shape, and green reading all influence scoring, while battery-backed memory preserves player statistics and progress.
Controls And Mechanics
- Three-click swing: Start the meter, set power, then time accuracy. Pushing beyond normal power increases distance but makes hooks and slices more severe.
- Shot planning: Adjust aim, club, draw or fade, and trajectory, then use overhead and green-grid views to judge the course.
- Multiplayer: Up to four players compete in alternating hot-seat play, including a three-hole elimination Shoot-Out.
