Overview and Gameplay
Donald Duck finds an incomplete treasure map in Scrooge McDuck’s library and sets off to recover King Garuzia’s fortune before Pete and his gang. This acclaimed Sega adventure combines side-scrolling platforming with exploration, inventory puzzles, and revisiting earlier destinations.
Donald travels between locations such as Duckburg, Mexico, Transylvania, Egypt, and the South Pole. Checkpoint flags let him leave a stage, collect a required item or ability elsewhere, and return without restarting the entire area.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move Donald, climb ladders, and select destinations or inventory items.
- A makes Donald dash, B fires the selected weapon, and C jumps.
- Plungers stun enemies and later become temporary wall platforms or grips for crossing gaps.
- Popcorn attacks enemies, bubblegum breaks certain obstacles, and five chili peppers trigger a temporary Quack Attack.
- The game supports one player only.
Version Notes
This Revision 01 World release includes minor corrections and technical changes, including adjusted enemy placement, corrected introductory text, and altered music routing. In Japan, the game was titled I Love Donald Duck: Guruzia Ou no Hihou.
