Overview and Gameplay

Pokemon Green is an unlicensed side-scrolling platform game starring a green Clefairy. Each stage requires Clefairy to cross platforms, avoid water and hazards, defeat enemies, collect items, and reach a boss event.

Boss encounters use puzzle and memory minigames, including panel matching and rock-paper-scissors challenges. Winning advances to a bonus game before the next stage.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves Clefairy, A jumps and confirms selections, and B fires a projectile. Enemies can also be defeated by landing on them.

Strawberries improve the projectile’s range and power, with the fourth upgrade granting temporary invincibility. Melons, cakes, and ice creams award points, while spring platforms launch Clefairy higher. An extra life is awarded at 50,000 points and at each additional 50,000-point threshold. Enemy contact or falling into water costs a life, and continuing restarts the current stage.

Version Notes

This unauthorized graphical hack replaces Keroppi in Kero Kero Keroppi no Daibouken 2 with Clefairy and changes the original musical-note attack into generic bullets. The source game’s opening story and copyright screens were removed, while its stages, enemies, minigames, items, and scoring systems remain.
