Overview and Gameplay
Lucia Cabrock steals the prototype Gley Lancer to search for her missing father during a war against a teleporting alien force. This 1992 Mega Drive shooter sends her through 11 side-scrolling stages filled with enemy formations, hazardous terrain, checkpoints, and bosses.
The defining feature is a pair of satellite weapons called Gunners. Seven selectable Mover formations determine how they aim, track targets, trail the ship, or rotate around it. Weapon pickups include Laser, Bound Shot, Twin Shot, Burner, 5-Way Spread Shot, Saber, and Spread Bomb.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move the ship in eight directions.
- A: Cycle through four speed settings.
- B: Fire the ship and Gunner weapons.
- C: Operate the selected Mover, such as locking aim or changing targeting behavior.
- A single hit costs a life and returns Lucia to a checkpoint with basic equipment. Continues are unlimited, but restart the current stage.
Version Notes
This is the original Japanese release, with story scenes mainly in Japanese. It is separate from later translated cartridges and modern ports with rewind, save states, and analogue aiming.
