Overview and Gameplay

Agents Albatross and Leila Blitz infiltrate Geldra strongholds after the organization attacks global communications. This Genesis conversion of Namco’s arcade shooter rewards deliberate movement, careful ammunition use, and frequent use of doorways and background areas as cover.

Players fight through 11 rounds, moving between upper and lower paths while collecting weapons, ammunition, health, time bonuses, and extra agents. Completing the first mission unlocks a harder second run with altered stages and the complete ending.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Movement: Walk, crouch, enter cover, and move between elevated paths with the directional controls.
  • Combat: Fire the equipped weapon with B and jump with C. Pistol ammunition is limited, although an empty pistol can still fire slowly.
  • Weapons: Rapid-fire guns, the piercing Shot Cluster, and the short-range Flame Gun expand the basic arsenal.
  • Co-op: Two players can fight simultaneously as Albatross and Leila. A defeated player may take a spare agent from the surviving partner.

Version Notes

The Genesis edition expands the arcade original with additional stages, enemies, bosses, weapons, story scenes, passwords, and a sound test.
