Overview and Gameplay

Aero, the star acrobat of the World of Amusement Circus and Funpark, must stop Edgar Ektor after the villain sabotages the attractions and kidnaps the performers. This side-scrolling platformer is built around objectives rather than simply reaching each stage exit. Aero breaks star platforms, passes through hoops, activates switches, finds keys, rescues captives, and survives rides involving cannons, roller coasters, tightropes, trampolines, and water slides. The adventure spans four themed worlds and is known for large stages, instant-death hazards, limited continues, and no password or save system.

Controls And Mechanics

Movement and stunt actions:

  • Use the directional pad to run, duck, climb, steer in the air, and operate stage devices.
  • A throws collected stars as limited projectiles.
  • B jumps, performs Aero’s diagonal drill in midair, and operates cannons.
  • C lets Aero look around, hover briefly, hang beneath tightropes, or slide down ladders.

A lightning power-up grants a second drill during a jump until Aero loses a life. Checkpoints restore the current position, while letter-A items support a health meter of up to five points. The game is single-player only.

Version Notes

The Genesis and Super NES editions were developed concurrently. On Genesis, the diving bonus section is a conventional vertical 2D stage rather than the Super NES Mode 7 freefall sequence. The versions also contain soundtrack differences.
