Overview and Gameplay

Aero performs circus stunts while fighting Edgar Ektor’s sabotage of the World of Amusement Circus and Funpark. This European SNES release is a mascot platformer built around objectives, props, traps, and acrobatic movement rather than simply running to the end of each stage.

The game is divided into themed areas such as Circus, Funpark, Woods, and Museum. Each level gives Aero a stunt-like task, and the exit hoop appears after the objective is complete.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Movement: Aero walks, climbs, ducks, jumps, hangs from wires, hovers briefly, and looks around the screen.
  • Attacks: he can drill through enemies in midair or throw collected stars.
  • Stage props: cannons, trampolines, hoops, balloons, rides, and hazards shape the level goals.
  • Scoring: collecting all food and stars with time left awards a Perfect Round and an extra Aero.
  • Players: this SNES release is for one player only.

Version Notes

The European PAL version keeps the title Aero the Acro-Bat. The SNES version includes a Mode 7-style skydiving bonus stage, unlike the Genesis version’s 2D bonus stage.
