Overview and Gameplay
Pugsley searches the Addams mansion after Wednesday hides six strange objects for him to find. This European SNES release is an Ocean platformer based on the animated Addams Family era, with a mansion hub leading into large themed stages.
Each doorway sends Pugsley into a long side-scrolling area with enemies, hazards, switches, chains, boss fights, and one hidden scavenger-hunt item. The game has no save or password system, so its strict jumps, slippery movement, and limited attack options make it a demanding platformer.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: Pugsley runs, crouches, crawls, climbs chains, enters doors, and jumps through hazard-heavy rooms.
- Combat: most enemies are defeated by jumping on them.
- Health: Pugsley has a small heart meter, and dollar pickups can restore health or earn extra lives.
- Progression: six main items must be recovered from mansion stages.
- Players: this SNES release is for one player only.
Version Notes
The European PAL version keeps the title The Addams Family: Pugsley’s Scavenger Hunt. This SNES game is Ocean’s version and is distinct from the NES and Game Boy releases.
