Overview and Gameplay
Uncle Fester searches the Addams estate after Debbie Jellinsky kidnaps baby Pubert. This European SNES release turns the movie license into a top-down action adventure, closer to a maze-like quest than the earlier Addams Family platform games.
Fester explores outdoor areas, rooms, and dungeon-like spaces, talks to characters, collects keys and items, solves switches and puzzles, and fights enemies with his electrical attack. Progress is tracked through passwords, with a journal and map helping navigation once found.
Controls And Mechanics
- Combat: Fester attacks with his electrical Zzap and can also use equipped items.
- Inventory: keys, cookies, potions, weapons, and other tools are stored and selected from the inventory screen.
- Health: the Ill-Health skull meter starts small and can grow during the adventure.
- Exploration: signs, switches, objects, and conversations are important for progress.
- Players: this SNES release is for one player only.
Version Notes
The European SNES version includes English, French, and German language options. This is the SNES action-adventure version, separate from the Mega Drive release.
