Overview and Gameplay
John Spartan pursues Simon Phoenix across a ruined 1996 Los Angeles and the controlled future city of San Angeles. Based on the film, Demolition Man combines side-scrolling run-and-gun stages with two overhead shooting missions.
Most levels mix platforming, armed enemies, environmental hazards, weapon pickups, and recurring confrontations with Phoenix. Objectives include rescuing hostages, stopping a monorail, crossing zip lines, navigating a pipe maze, and reaching the final battle in the Cryo-Prison. The campaign uses health, lives, checkpoints, limited continues, and three difficulty settings.
