Overview and Gameplay
Death Adder has conquered Yuria and stolen the Golden Axe, sending three revenge-driven warriors into battle. Choose Ax-Battler, Tyris-Flare, or Gilius-Thunderhead, each with different physical strength and magical power, then fight through scrolling stages filled with soldiers, skeletons, giants, and bosses.
This Sega Genesis conversion expands the 1989 arcade game with additional stages, a new final boss, Beginner mode, and The Duel. Its simultaneous two-player campaign, large magic attacks, and rideable creatures helped make it one of Sega’s most recognizable early action games.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: Walk in eight directions, or double-tap a direction to run.
- Combat: Chain weapon attacks, jump strikes, running attacks, grabs, and throws.
- Magic: Collect blue pots from thieves and spend the stored supply on character-specific spells.
- Bizarrians: Knock enemies from their mounts, then ride the creatures and use their special attacks.
- Multiplayer: Two players can fight together simultaneously, while The Duel also includes a versus mode.
