Overview and Gameplay
Global conquest is the objective in this console adaptation of Parker Brothers’ strategy board game. Players reinforce armies, attack neighboring territories, claim continent bonuses, collect territory cards, and fortify their positions until every rival faction is eliminated.
Risk includes standard probability-based battles and an optional Arcade Battle system. Arcade battles replace automatic resolution with split-screen cannon duels in which players shoot infantry and cavalry targets to influence the outcome. Matches support solo play against computer opponents or two-player competition, with computer-controlled factions filling additional positions.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move the map cursor, adjust values, and aim cannons during Arcade battles.
- A confirms selections and fires the cannon.
- B returns from menus or closes instruction screens.
- C performs context-sensitive commands shown on screen.
- Start pauses battles.
Conquering at least one territory during a turn awards a card. Valid card sets can be exchanged for reinforcements, while controlling an entire continent provides an additional army bonus.
