Overview and Gameplay

Rolo escapes from McSmiley’s circus and sets out to free caged animals before rescuing his mother. This side-scrolling puzzle platformer was created specifically for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive.

Each rescued animal has a practical ability. Rabbits jump high, squirrels climb walls, moles dig through soft ground, and beavers travel safely through water. Rolo can lead up to three companions, switch control through the pause menu, and revisit cleared stages to collect animals, map pieces, and bonuses.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Directions: Move the active character and navigate unlocked overworld paths.
  • A: Run and extend Rolo’s jumping distance.
  • B: Jump.
  • C: Use the active character’s special ability or Rolo’s current trunk power.
  • Start: Pause and open the character selection menu.

Temporary powers let Rolo fire projectiles, vacuum up objects, shrink, fly with helium, or gain protection. Companions can absorb ordinary damage, while some hazards remain immediately fatal. The game supports one player only.
