Overview and Gameplay
A lone ninja faces a city under threat from planted explosives, moving through side-scrolling stages filled with armed enemies and environmental hazards. Joe Musashi returns with a distinct companion system where a trained dog becomes a tactical tool during combat, shifting enemy attention and opening attack opportunities. Progress is structured through linear stages that escalate in enemy density, platforming precision, and boss encounters that require timing and positioning more than brute force.
Combat combines close-range sword strikes with limited-use ninpo techniques that clear threats on screen. The dog companion is central to managing tougher encounters, especially when enemy patterns overwhelm direct attacks. Each stage pushes a balance between movement, timing, and controlled aggression.
