Overview and Gameplay
ToeJam and Earl are stranded on Earth after their rocket breaks into ten pieces. Explore 25 floating levels, recover every missing part, and reach the elevator while avoiding strange Earthlings such as shopping-cart drivers, dentists, and hula dancers.
Random World changes layouts, enemies, and present identities between games, while Fixed World uses consistent maps. Wrapped presents may contain useful movement gear, healing, weapons, or harmful surprises. Exploring terrain and opening presents earns points toward higher ranks, larger health bars, and extra lives.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: Use the directions to walk, explore maps, and navigate menus. Holding the action button while moving makes the character sneak.
- Presents: Open the inventory, select a present, then use or drop it. Telephones reveal map areas, food affects health, and money pays friendly Earthlings for services.
- Co-op: Two players explore simultaneously. The view splits when they separate and reunites when they meet. Players can exchange presents, share certain effects, and high-five to balance their health.
