Overview and Gameplay
Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku follows Goku through condensed versions of the Saiyan and Frieza story arcs. The journey begins after Raditz kidnaps Gohan and continues through Earth, Snake Way, King Kai’s planet, and Namek before the final battle with Frieza.
Top-down areas contain enemies, characters, quest objects, and routes blocked by terrain. Defeating enemies and completing tasks awards experience, while level gains increase maximum health and Ki. New energy techniques become available during the story, and Flight Mode allows Goku to cross water and other obstacles.
Controls And Mechanics
Close-range attacks use punches and kicks, while the selected Ki technique provides ranged offense. Holding the Ki button charges an attack. Available techniques include Ki Blast, Solar Flare, and Kamehameha. Herbs and Senzu Beans restore health, and Flight Charges determine how long Goku can remain airborne.
The directional pad moves Goku. A attacks, talks, examines, picks up objects, and confirms choices. B uses or charges Ki attacks and cancels menu selections. L cycles Ki techniques, R activates Flight Mode, Start opens the menu and status screen, and Select displays flight status.
