Overview and Gameplay

Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure follows young Goku from his first meeting with Bulma through battles against the Red Ribbon Army, tournament fighters, and King Piccolo. Story Mode contains side-scrolling action stages, Flying Nimbus sequences, and one-on-one boss fights. Goku defeats enemies, crosses hazards, collects Dragon Balls, and searches for permanent upgrades.

Completing Goku’s campaign unlocks Krillin’s story, Extra Mode, and mini-games. Extra Mode reopens completed stages with new routes, collectibles, and unlockable characters. Battle Mode supports fights against the computer, while Survival Mode tests one health supply across consecutive opponents.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad handles movement, running, dashing, guarding, and aiming. A jumps and can extend Goku’s airtime. B performs melee combinations and timed parries. L activates character-specific techniques, while R charges ki attacks. Stronger blasts consume more of the four-part ki gauge.

Food restores health. Permanent collectibles increase health, ki capacity, or Power Pole strength. Mini-games score performance by time, points, or enemies defeated. Two players can fight simultaneously through a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable using two systems and two cartridges.
