Overview and Gameplay
Link must awaken Princess Zelda by claiming the Triforce of Courage. He crosses a top-down map of Hyrule, enters towns and caves, and fights through side-scrolling encounters. Six palace guardians protect crystals that Link must place in statues to open the path to the Great Palace.
Defeated enemies award experience toward Attack, Magic, and Life levels. Townspeople teach spells and sword techniques, while permanent items open new routes across the overworld. The quest supports three save files.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Link, changes his shield stance, and enters doors. A jumps and activates the Hammer on the overworld. B swings the sword, speaks with townspeople, and uses the Flute. Select casts the chosen spell, while Start pauses or opens the item and magic screen.
Heart and Magic Containers expand their gauges. Keys open palace doors, restorative items refill resources, and extra lives provide additional attempts. Falling into hazards or losing all health costs a life. A full Game Over returns Link to North Castle and removes unspent experience.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance edition is an official portable release of the Western NES game. It adds a system menu, Sleep Mode, software reset, and a direct save-and-quit command. The original display is compressed to fit the GBA screen.
