Overview and Gameplay
A young adventurer reaches Baldur’s Gate seeking fortune, survives a robbery, and follows the thieves into a conflict involving guilds, monsters, and Eldrith the Betrayer. The three-act campaign travels through the city, the Sunset Mountains, and the Marsh of Chelimber, with quests, dungeon exploration, treasure searches, and boss battles across more than 28 locations.
The hero begins as an Arcane Archer, Fighter, or Sorcerer. Enemies and completed quests award experience, while level gains provide points for spells and feats. Every fourth level also grants an attribute increase. Completing the campaign unlocks the Elven Fighter class.
Controls And Mechanics
Combat uses equipped melee weapons, bows, spells, and active feats. Blocking reduces incoming attacks, and the hero can cycle between melee, ranged, and magical options. Bows consume arrows, while healing and rejuvenation potions restore health and mana.
Weapons, armor, shields, rings, amulets, potions, and gold appear in chests and breakable containers. Carrying capacity limits collected equipment, and merchants buy unwanted loot. Reaching zero health ends the attempt. Saves can be created from the inventory menu.
Version Notes
This handheld adaptation uses fixed isometric environments, a customizable hero, additional accessible houses and side quests, an unlockable Elven Fighter, and saving from any location.
