Overview and Gameplay
Ghost Rider follows Johnny Blaze after Mephisto sends him to hunt evil souls that escaped from Hell and threaten Roxanne. Story Mode contains five chapters and 25 stages, alternating side-scrolling combat with forward-moving Hellcycle sequences. Each chapter ends with a boss battle, while Angelic, Human, and Demonic settings adjust the challenge.
Defeated enemies and attack combinations build Mana and award Demon Orbs. Spend the purple orbs on new combinations, stronger fists and chains, larger health and Mana reserves, and improved special attacks. Yellow orbs restore health, while blue orbs replenish Mana.
Controls And Mechanics
Use the Control Pad to move, crouch, guard, or steer the Hellcycle. A swings the chain or fires Hellfire, B punches or performs a cycle swipe, L grabs enemies or brakes, and R jumps or accelerates. Start pauses, and Select opens the upgrade menu.
Thirst for Vengeance increases damage while Mana remains. Penance Stare rewards extra Demon Orbs after grabbing an enemy. Three lives are available before game over, and saved progress allows the current stage to be attempted again.

This multilingual release includes English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch. The Game Boy Advance edition uses dedicated 2D combat stages and Hellcycle sequences.
