Overview and Gameplay
Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand follows Jackie as he travels across ten stages to recover eight ancient kung-fu scrolls before the Dark Hand can use them. Locations include San Francisco, a Mayan temple, Mt. Fuji, the Forbidden City, Victoria Harbor, Siberia, and Alcatraz. Each stage contains enemy waves, platform hazards, usable scenery, and boss encounters.
Collected scrolls permanently add techniques such as triple punches, flurry attacks, wall jumps, super jumps, and a ramming move. Training mode lets Jackie practice against a robot with every scroll technique available.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Jackie and performs rolls or backflips with quick taps. A punches or attacks with a held weapon, B kicks or throws an object, L blocks, and R jumps. Pressing L and R together picks up weapons, scenery, or eligible enemies, while Start or Select pauses play.
Jackie can chain attacks, use flying and spinning kicks, throw enemies into other opponents, and fight with temporary weapons such as umbrellas, brooms, and nunchaku. Tea Cups and Super Potions restore health. Level scores and belt rankings reflect combat performance, and Easy, Normal, and Hard settings adjust the challenge.
