Overview and Gameplay
Pac-Man moves through a maze eating every pellet while Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde patrol the corridors. Clearing the maze starts another stage with faster movement and shorter Power Pellet effects. The run continues until all lives are lost.
Four Power Pellets temporarily make the ghosts vulnerable. Bonus fruit appears twice per stage, and later stages raise its point value. One-player and alternating two-player modes use the same maze and score rules.
Controls And Mechanics
The Control Pad moves Pac-Man, Start begins or pauses play, and Select chooses the player count. Pressing L and R together opens the system menu.
Regular pellets score 10 points and Power Pellets score 50. Consecutive ghosts eaten during one Power Pellet award 200, 400, 800, and 1,600 points. Pac-Man begins with three lives and earns the first extra life at 10,000 points. Contact with a ghost costs a life. In two-player mode, control passes after the active player loses a life.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance release reproduces the Famicom and NES conversion. It adds persistent high-score saving, sleep mode, a system menu, and one-cartridge or two-cartridge Link Cable play.
