Overview and Gameplay
Mr. Driller 2 follows Susumu Hori and Anna Hottenmeyer as they drill through expanding masses of colored blocks. Mission Driller sets fixed depth goals across increasingly difficult courses, while Endless Driller continues until every life is lost. Time Attack Driller replaces air and lives with target times, clock bonuses, and penalties from X-Blocks. Matching groups of four or more blocks disappear together and can trigger falling cascades.
Controls And Mechanics
Directional input moves the driller, aims the drill, and climbs onto adjacent blocks. Air decreases continuously in Mission and Endless modes, while capsules replenish the supply. X-Blocks require five hits and consume air when destroyed, Hard Blocks resist drilling, and delayed Crystal Blocks can destabilize nearby structures. Falling blocks and depleted air cost lives. Game Link play supports simultaneous two-player competition, with Flip, Rotate, and Crystal items interfering with the opposing field.
