Overview and Gameplay
Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle turns Namco’s Cosmo Gang characters into a falling-block puzzle game. Containers, Cosmos, and arrow-marked balls drop into the playfield, and the goal is to keep the stack from reaching the top.
Containers vanish when six form a full horizontal row, while Cosmos must be cleared by a rolling ball. The ball follows its arrow direction, bounces through the field, and removes every Cosmo in its path. The Super Famicom version includes solo play, two-player versus, and a 100 Stage puzzle mode.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directional pad moves pieces, drops them downward, and selects menu items.
- B rotates blocks and confirms choices.
- L and R change ball arrow direction in 100 Stage Mode.
- Start pauses or confirms, and Select can restart a stage together with Start.
- In versus mode, clearing four or more Cosmos at once sends extra Cosmos to the opponent.
Version Notes
This is the Japanese Super Famicom version of Namco’s arcade puzzle game. The later Western Pac-Attack uses the same core idea with Pac-Man characters.
