Overview and Gameplay

The Sailor Moon S cast trades fighting for a competitive block-clearing puzzle contest built around character attacks and black penalty blocks.

The player chooses a Sailor Moon character, clears connected groups of red, blue, and green blocks, and manages the board while an opponent field reacts to attacks. Clearing groups builds power for character-specific special moves, while black blocks disrupt the field and require careful adjacent clears to remove.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move a cursor across the puzzle board and erase connected same-color block groups.
  • Holding the control button lets the player manipulate waiting blocks above the field.
  • Special moves use character powers to attack the opponent or affect the puzzle board.
  • Shoulder buttons change special move level.
  • Password entry is available from the character select screen.

Version Notes

  • This is the Japanese Super Famicom release, with primarily Japanese menus and text.
  • It is separate from the Sailor Moon S fighting game and the later Fuwa Fuwa Panic titles.

Release And Credits

  • Japanese Super Famicom release year: 1994.
  • Developer: Tom Create.
  • Publisher: Bandai.
  • Original Super Famicom puzzle game, not a port from another platform.
