Overview and Gameplay
Kaptain K. Rool kidnaps Donkey Kong, sending Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong across Crocodile Isle to rescue him. The route passes pirate ships, volcanic caverns, swamps, amusement parks, haunted woods, a castle, and the hidden Lost World.
Stages feature climbing, swimming, barrel cannons, roller-coaster runs, animal helpers, concealed bonus rooms, and boss battles. Kremkoins earned in bonus challenges unlock Lost World stages, while Diddy’s Dash, Expresso Racing, Funky’s Flights, and Bag a Bug provide additional timed or score-based modes.
Controls And Mechanics
Diddy attacks with a cartwheel, while Dixie uses her Helicopter Spin to attack and glide. Team-Up allows one Kong to carry and throw the other toward enemies, collectibles, or elevated routes. DK Barrels restore a missing partner, Star Barrels mark checkpoints, and losing the only active Kong costs a life.
Collecting 100 bananas or all four KONG letters grants an extra life. Banana Coins pay for services, Hero Coins and photographs support completion, and golden feathers improve Expresso for racing. Two Player Team uses alternating cooperative turns, while selected extra modes support competitive link-cable play.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance adaptation adds redesigned maps, new story scenes, the Kerozene boss, four extra modes, scrapbook photographs, golden feathers, additional Hero Coins, and save-anywhere support.
