Overview and Gameplay
Kaptain K. Rool kidnaps Donkey Kong and carries him to Crocodile Isle. Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong travel through pirate ships, mines, swamps, amusement parks, forests, castles, and the Flying Krock to rescue him.
Stages contain hidden Bonus Barrels, K-O-N-G letters, Hero Coins, photographs, Golden Feathers, and Animal Friends with specialized abilities. Kremkoins earned from bonus challenges unlock the Lost World. Additional modes include Diddy’s Dash time trials, Expresso races, Funky’s flying missions, and Bag a Bug challenges.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, crouches, climbs, swims, aims, and navigates menus. A jumps, swims, and confirms selections. B performs Diddy’s cartwheel or Dixie’s spin, picks up objects, throws barrels, and allows running when held. Dixie can slow her fall with a helicopter spin. R teams up the Kongs for partner throws and activates Animal Friend abilities, while L dismounts an Animal Friend.
DK Barrels restore a missing partner, Star Barrels mark checkpoints, and losing both Kongs costs a life. Two Player Team assigns Diddy and Dixie to separate players who alternate control. Linked systems support competitive races and flying battles.
Version Notes
