Overview and Gameplay
Namco Museum 50th Anniversary contains five Namco arcade games: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Rally-X. A direct menu opens each title, with progress based on clearing rounds, extending a run, and raising the score.
Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man clear mazes by eating every dot while avoiding ghosts. Galaga advances through enemy waves and Challenging Stages. Dig Dug uses underground rounds filled with tunneling enemies and falling rocks. Rally-X uses scrolling mazes where every flag must be collected.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad handles movement and menu selection. A fires in Galaga, operates the pump in Dig Dug, and releases smoke in Rally-X. B opens game options, START pauses play, and SELECT changes the display mode in supported games.
- Power Pellets let Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man eat ghosts temporarily.
- Galaga can restore a captured fighter to form a dual ship with stronger firepower.
- Dig Dug awards bonus vegetables after two rocks fall during a round.
- Rally-X consumes fuel while driving and scores remaining fuel after all flags are collected.
A game ends when all lives or vehicles are lost. Individual options adjust starting lives, difficulty, bonus-life rules, and selected game-specific settings.
Version Notes
The Game Boy Advance edition uses a compact five-game menu designed for portable play, with separate options and pause controls for each title.
