Overview and Gameplay
Sega Rally Championship features arcade-style rally races across six international courses with dirt, snow, sand, country roads, and wooded hills. Championship Cup uses finishing positions and race results to determine progress, while Time Attack records the fastest course times.
Successful races award Rally Points for the Shop, where additional cars, courses, minigames, and gallery material become available. RC Rally events use remote-controlled cars on compact circuits and provide another way to collect points.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad steers, A accelerates, and B brakes. Manual transmission assigns downshifts to L and upshifts to R. Tires and transmission settings affect how each car handles different surfaces and weather conditions.
Collisions and difficult terrain reduce speed, while poor finishing positions or slow times prevent progress. Link-cable multiplayer supports simultaneous competitive races for two to four participants using separate Game Boy Advance systems and cartridges.
Version Notes
This handheld adaptation uses original GBA courses, variable weather, Rally Point progression, a Shop, RC Rally minigames, galleries, and four-player link-cable racing.
