Overview and Gameplay
Mr. Burns replaces Springfield’s buses with expensive nuclear vehicles, so local drivers carry passengers to raise $1,000,000 and end his transit monopoly. Road Rage mode assigns fares across six areas, beginning with Evergreen Terrace and unlocking later districts through cumulative earnings. Fast deliveries, accurate stops, and bonus conditions award additional money and time. Performance mode scores collisions, jumps, speed detectors, horn zones, and chained actions while a Satisfaction Meter tracks the passenger’s response. Sunday Drive provides untimed exploration, while ten Mission challenges unlock maps, backgrounds, and vehicle color options.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad steers and sounds the horn. A accelerates and can trigger a timed starting boost, while B brakes and reverses. L drops the current passenger, and R operates the hand brake and enables drifting. Each vehicle has separate acceleration, speed, and handling ratings. Road Rage ends when the session timer expires, while missions use individual time limits and objective rules. Progress unlocks additional drivers and courses through an eight-character picture-password system. Two-player Game Link matches let both drivers compete to claim passengers and complete a chosen number of drop-offs.
Version Notes
The Game Boy Advance adaptation uses a single-screen pseudo-3D driving view, six compact Springfield courses, fifteen drivers, password-based progression, and a dedicated Performance mode.
