Overview and Gameplay
Bomberman Tournament sends Bomberman across planet Phantarion after five meteors strike and Max disappears. Quest Mode uses connected fields, towns, and enemy bases where bombs destroy obstacles, reveal items, solve room conditions, and defeat bosses. Equipment upgrades increase blast range, bomb capacity, movement speed, and defense. Collectible Karabons provide field abilities and enter optional three-round battles.
Controls And Mechanics
Bomberman places timed bombs, uses the equipped Karabon ability, and manages bombs, equipment, and inventory from the menu. Hearts measure health, medicine restores damage, and defeating a boss raises maximum health. Battle Mode supports up to four competitors through Game Link play, including Single-Pak matches with one cartridge. Eight arenas use hazards such as conveyor belts, ice, mines, pipes, and teleporters. Power-ups grant larger blasts, extra bombs, faster movement, and techniques for kicking, punching, carrying, or placing bomb lines.
Version Notes
The Japanese release is titled Bomberman Story, while North America and Europe use Bomberman Tournament.
