Overview and Gameplay

Mario Party Advance sends Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Yoshi across Shroom City after Bowser scatters its minigames and Professor E. Gadd’s Gaddgets. The main mode contains 50 quests built around errands, investigations, conversations, microgames, and standard minigames. Completing quests unlocks activities and advances the campaign toward Bowser encounters.

Play Land lets you replay unlocked minigames and Gaddgets. Challenge Land awards coins through minigame sequences, gambling games, Duel Dash courses, and Bowser Land; coins purchase additional Gaddgets. Party Land contains competitive link-cable modes and pass-the-system contests.

Controls And Mechanics

The Control Pad moves characters, steers vehicles, and selects menu choices. A confirms choices, rolls dice, and performs the primary action in most activities. B cancels selections or performs a secondary action. L opens the Shroom City menu, R displays the map, and Start pauses.

Shroom City begins with five Mushrooms, each providing one dice roll. Dice Spaces add a roll, Minus Spaces remove a Mushroom, and minigame spaces can add or subtract Mushrooms. A session ends when none remain, while collected rewards stay saved.

Two-player competition supports Single-Pak and Multi-Pak link modes. Other Party Land events use one system passed between participants.
