Overview and Gameplay
Digimon Battle Spirit 2 follows the Digimon Frontier cast as they fight through the Digital World and challenge Kerpymon. Battles unfold across layered arenas with hazards and roaming minor Digimon.
Standard matches award points by knocking D-Spirits from an opponent and collecting them before they disappear. The higher score wins when time expires. Single-player mode contains seven CPU encounters, while repeated clears unlock additional fighters, powered variants, Tamer Tags, and the Digimon Shoot minigame.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, runs, blocks, drops through platforms, and modifies attacks. A jumps, while B performs normal attacks, special moves, running attacks, throws, and aerial attacks. Some techniques can be charged.
Successful attacks fill the Digivolution gauge for temporary Beast Spirit attacks. Collecting five Diamond D-Spirits enables an Ancient Warrior attack that consumes the full Diamond gauge. Status effects can burn, freeze, shock, or confuse opponents. Two players can compete simultaneously using two Game Boy Advance systems and a Game Link Cable.
