Overview and Gameplay

Choose from 16 world warriors and fight through one-on-one matches across an international route. Arcade Mode includes rival battles, bonus stages, a final boss, and a character ending. Akuma and Shin Akuma can be unlocked, while Training Mode supports move and combo practice. Survival and Time Attack add timed challenge events, and accumulated VS Points unlock additional content.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves, jumps, crouches, and blocks. Tap A or B for light kicks or punches, hold them for medium attacks, and use L and R for heavy punches and kicks. Special moves use character-specific directional commands. Attacks fill the Super Combo Gauge, which enables a Super Combo when full. A round ends when one fighter loses all vitality or when time expires; matches normally require two round wins.

Two players can fight simultaneously through a Game Link Cable with two systems and two cartridges. Each player selects a fighter and game speed before the match.

Version Notes

This Game Boy Advance adaptation adds new artwork, redesigned backgrounds, Training, Survival, Time Attack, and optional Easy Commands for simplified special moves. The Japanese release is titled Super Street Fighter II X: Revival. In the North American release, triggering the hidden Akuma encounter can cause corrupted graphics, a freeze, and damaged Survival or Time Attack records.
